For the 50th birthday of this gooey little icon we decided to have a right royal knees up as we threw a season-long celebration for the nation – kicking things off with an inclusive ad that invited everyone to join in our celebrations by tucking into a Creme Egg any way they wanted!
Little did we know our small casting decisions would kickstart a global conversation that highlighted just how much progress still needs to be made...
Thankfully, the homophobic hatred was
quickly drowned out by a tsunami of support

It wouldn’t be a birthday without a little sing song, so we teamed up with another famous 50 year old on their big day for a very special rendition of an absolute classic. Sorry, Gary.
Goose Island x Creme Egg
To mark the occasion we partnered with Goose Island to playfully merge our two brand worlds and create the ‘GOO–BEER–LEE!’ – a dark and delicious Creme Egg beer! And the country went mad for it! With our Limited Eggdition brew selling out in less than a minute! 50 years of a national icon… we'll drink to that.
Duchess China x Creme Egg
It wouldn’t be a Goobilee without some commemorative crockery. So we teamed up with Duchess China to create 50 limited edition plates for Creme Egg fans to get theirs hands on. Each plate was sequentially priced from £1 - £50 and all proceeds were donated to The Trussell Trust. They sold out instantly with some ending up on eBay for over £2000!
